Health Occupations II
Course Information
Students entering the Health Occupations II program will have already successfully completed all Illinois State requirements for CNA Certification. This program, taught by a Registered Nurse (RN), will prepare students for their continued education at a community or four-year college/university level in the following healthcare fields:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Medical Technologist
- Radiology
- EMT - Basic
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Respiratory Therapy
During this second year of the program, in Health Occupations II, students will have the opportunity to serve an internship in a local health care facility. Twice per week, students will be placed in a healthcare environment, exposed to real patients, utilizing and perfecting the skills developed during their first year.
REQUIRED/RECOMMENDED TOOLS AND SUPPLIES
- Watch, must have second hand
- Uniform clothing
- Appropriate shoes as required by assigned Internship Program
- Pens
- Pocket notebook.
- TB Test is required at student's expense ($5 for returning students)
- Medical dictionary, "Merriam Webster's Medical Dictionary" is recommended and available at Barnes & Noble for approximately $7.00.

The lab fee/ textbook rental cost for this class is $45.00
