KACC Annual Award Ceremony

Clearly, by 6:00 p.m. the dining room was packed with excited students, parents, faculty, school administration and local dignitaries to witness this year's KACC Student Awards.
KACC Director, Don Fay, gave the opening remarks and welcomed everyone. Mr. Fay stated he was delighted to see a representative from Rep. Lisa Dugan's office, Mayor Gael Kent from the Village of Bradley, Jacquelyn Dugan-Roof from the Bradley-Bourbonnais Chamber, Sally Schmidt of the Kankakee Home Builders Association, in addition to many school administrators and counselors from the students' home schools attend. He then turned the evening over to Principal Tom Hahs, the official MC of the night. Special thanks were given to the Bourbonnais Fire Department, Family of Bruce Spaulding and the Kankakee Community College for the additional scholarship awards to be given during the event.
While we have an incredible number of wonderful students at the Career Center," stated Mr. Hahs, "we will be giving away several awards and scholarships to those who have gone above and beyond within their course work and, in many cases, within the community."

Scholarship
These scholarships are in memory of Bruce Spaulding and Michael
Lawrence, two career center teachers who passed away in 2003.
Scholarships are funded through the KACC Memorial Golf

Technical Scholarship
This $800 scholarship was awarded
to BBCHS Student Ian Walton
These two scholarships were in the amount of $250. According to Mr. Mike DeBetta, these awards were given to one student in reading and one student in math.
The reading scholarship was won by Kevin Potter from BBCHS
The math scholarship was won by Rebecca Crivokapich from Grant Park High School.
