All Hands On Deck!

On Friday, October 3, 2008, Naval Recruiter Justin (Dusty) Neuman re-enlisted with the United States Navy for a three-year term.

As Neuman made plans for his re-enlistment, time was spent reflecting on his career choice and how it all began - enter Kankakee Area Career Center.

As a junior and senior student form Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School, Dusty Neuman attended Law Enforcement classes here at Kankakee Area Career Center.  It was then that he met the Navy Recruiter who struck a cord in what Dusty had hoped for in his future.   He signed the necessary papers, and then following his high school graduation found himself on a bus headed to basic training.

Taking into account his military career was launched while attending the Kankakee Area Career Center, he felt it only fitting that his re-enlistment ceremony should take place where it all began...The Law Enforcement Classroom!

It was also fitting to have the re-enlistment ceremony performed by one of KACC Member Schools' principals, Brian Riegler.  Lt. Riegler who spent last school year in Iraq for the Naval Special Op's.

Surrounded by his family, friends and fellow recruits, and future law enforcement possibilities as Career Center students, CTTI (SW) Justin Neuman was first discharged and then re-enlisted into the Navy for another three years by Lt. Brian Riegler.

It was both an honor and privilege for the Law Enforcement program at KACC to provide the venue for a former student as well as a member of our nation's military, to re-enlist in my classroom.
