KACC Students Earn $1,000 Scholarship through Junior Achievement

Essays Submitted Reap Large Rewards

Junior Achievement (JA) and the Kankakee Area Career Center (KACC) Business Management/Technology class have been earning front-page status on our KACC Website.  Not that all our curriculum here at KACC isn't fantastic, but occasionally, the limelight moves from one to another.  This time, its Business Management/Technology.

Following the exceptional performance of our students at the Junior Achievement You're Hired! event, KACC students were invited to submit an essay relating their experience and knowledge gained during this business start-up through liquidation venture.  As usual, KACC Students were up to the task.

Two of our students, Meredith Rennewanz from Herscher High School and Tyler Stark from Bradley-Bourbonnais High School both earned a $1,000 scholarship for their Essay.

KACC Student have also been invited to the Union League Club in Chicago for a JA Scholarship Board Meeting where $95,000 will be awarded to approximately 16 scholarship winners with the presence of the JA Board of Directors.

Their instructor, Deb Zurek is extremely proud of the students ~ understandably so ~ and all they have accomplished this year in their Business Management/Technology Program.
