Thanks Mr. Balling and Mr. Papineau
Matthew Roth Reaches Out
Former KACC Computer Technology Student, Matthew Roth, reached out to the Career Center a week ago letting us know he appreciated how much his two-year computer technology courses here at KACC helped get him started in continuing his education and embarking on a career.
Below are the comments from Matt:
"My experience at KACC helped to show me how much passion I had for the technology field. It also gave me all the great fundamentals which are so important to further my education after high school. I learned a lot in my two years with Mr. Balling and Mr. Papineau, who taught the Introduction to PC hardware and Computer Networking courses. They gave me the perfect start to learning more about computers and technology. I took an interest in computer networks based on what I had learned at KACC.
Not only were the classes full of information, they were fun as well. It was easy to learn all of the fundamentals within such a great learning environment allowing for both hands-on and practical learning activities. .
Working on the network equipment was what really sparked my interest. During the Computer II (Networking) class, I got a chance to work with Mr. Papineau directly. My classmates and I gained real-world work experience when networking problems were discovered in the class room and around the Career Center campus. These instances taught me all the essentials for troubleshooting.
My time at KACC inspired me to look for college programs designed to further my knowledge about computer networks. I ended up taking Network Communications as my program, and I have not looked back.
After college last year, I was fortunate enough to find a position working with computer networks on a daily basis. To this day, with my career taking off, I look and think back to the lessons I learned at KACC. I truly appreciate the learning opportunity I had, and the great instructors who inspired me to learn all I could. My future goal is to be to help and inspire young minds much like my instructors, Mr. Balling and Mr. Papineau.
