Former KACC Students Join US Army Reps at KACC
Welcome Back Calab and Austin
KACC students, faculty and staff had quite the nice surprise when former students Calab Schubert and Austin Ayers popped in during a recent visit by US Army Recruitment team of Staff Sgt. Schnackenberg and Staff. Sgt. Aust.
Throughout the school year, KACC sets aside time whereby college representatives, trade organizations, and military recruiters can visit KACC. This way, students have opportunities to get a fuller picture of the variety of career and college options from which to choose. Statistics demonstrate the vast majority of students who have been involved in Career and Technical Education are much more likely to be engaged in post-secondary education opportunities. As a school, we want to help them realize the bright future which lies ahead.
By Calab Schubert and Austin Ayers joining the Army Recruiters, our students were able to hear from young, former students who just graduated high school last year. Austin was able to speak about having received honors for the exemplary job he did during his training as a Cargo Specialist. He explained he "...graduated with honors in my Advanced Individual Training class. Even with saying all that, I am still looking forward to changing my Military Occupational Specialty to 11B infantry!"
Young Mr. Schubert said that since he's graduated high school, he's "..been through basic training and advanced individual training for the US Army. I feel like it's one of the most important decisions I've made. My goal is to stay in the service until retirement. I also plan to get a degree in marketing and paramedics. The Career Center definitely helped me figure out what I want to do. I'll always look back at it in a good way."
Well, Calab - We will always look back at you and Austin's time here in a good way too! Thanks for coming back to visit and speak on behalf of the US Army and the fine service you provide our Country.
