Teamwork and More
KACC Fire-Rescue-EMS Students once again benefited by the knowledge and expertise of Bourbonnais Fire Protection Department personnel. The BFPD Crew #61, came to KACC during each of our three sessions to talk about departmental operations and procedures within a fire department.
This fine crew talked about the variety of positions as members of an engine or truck company and how their responsibilities vary accordingly. The one constant is the importance of teamwork in the fire service. They stressed how each individual member of the team has a specific set of duties related to their position on the apparatus (engineer, officer, nozzle operator, etc). No matter the duty, each member of the team relies on the others to function to the best of their ability.
Students were guided around the apparatus and informed of the multitude of specialized tools carried on the apparatus - which is pretty evident in these pictures.
All-in-all, our students were very attentive according to Fire-Rescue-EMS instructor, Ed Leeson.
KACC and BTFPD have a long history of a partnership - teamwork - dedicated to helping fulfill our motto of Preparing Students For Tomorrow..
