Teresa Cailteux, affectionately known around the office here at KACC as "Teresa 2"  joined Team KACC in August of 2014. Teresa's professional background and experienced made her a good fit and a solid member of our team.

Teresa hails from Clifton where she lives with her husband, Dean, and is the proud mother to two children and loving "Nana to two beautiful grandchildren.  She works part-time at KACC as the Assistant to the Dean/Special Projects Coordinator.  When Teresa started at KACC, she had just had a year and a half of free-time after retiring from the Illinois State Police.

Teresa served the State Police from 1979 through 2012.  She began as a Clerk Stenographer II at Shapiro Developmental Center where she worked for five years before transferring to the Department of Public Aid in Iroquois County.  She stayed there until she transferred to the ISP Division of Criminal Investigations for a promotion to Clerk Stenographer II in 1985.  She continued earning promotions until reaching the position of Administrative Assistant with the Division of State Troopers, which she held until her retirement in 2012.

Here at KACC, and technically with Kankakee Area Regional Vocational Education System (KARVES), Teresa is largely responsible for coordinating career-related special events.  These include Sophomore Day, 8th Grade Career Awareness Days and the Emerging Workforce Career Day. This is in addition to helping Mr. Papineau, Special Projects Coordinator in arranging bi-annual Program Advisory Board meetings with area businesses and our quarterly Student Services Committee Meetings.  Student Services Committee is comprised of area-wide school counselors and other student support service folks from the area.

Teresa says when she was young she saw herself "Working in the education field, but did not have the opportunity to fulfill that dream until I started working at KACC. While I am still not an educator, I love working in the teamwork atmosphere at KACC where administration, teachers and support staff all work together for the betterment of our area youth!"

All of us at KACC agree - we're grateful Teresa 2 did not want to stay retired.  She's a terrific asset to our school.
