Thanks for the Turnout - Gear that is.
Chebanse Township Fire Protection District donates Turnout Gear and Equipment
Fun Fact: A firefighter's uniform is sometimes referred to as turnout gear, which refers to the time-saving practice of "turning out" the pants over the top of the boots - ready to respond.
Thanks to Fire Chief Tim Kent and the Chebanse Township Fire Protection District for their recent donation of surplus equipment and clothing. Our KACC Fire-Rescue-EMR Students were delighted to receive them.
The clothing included turnout coats, bunker pants, boots, hoods, and gloves, enough to outfit almost one dozen students. The equipment donated included a ventilation chainsaw, several electric cords and reels, four lengths of hose, a ventilation fan, and various other pieces of rescue equipment.
KACC Fire-Rescue-EMR program is fortunate to have the support of area fire departments. The good working relationships are fostered in part because KACC prepares our students to be ready to fill the needs of local community emergency response services.
In the case of the Chebanse Township Fire Protection District, two former students, Jared Sands and Kollin Krummwiede, are current members and one current student, Dawson Gossett, plans on joining the Chebanse District once he is eligible.
