Position Title:         Welding Instructor

Position Type:        Full-time Teaching Position

Position Summary:  
KACC is looking for a Welding Technology Instructor who will provide exceptional welding technology instruction and help students develop academic and technical skills needed to transfer on to post-secondary education and/or the welding field; earn dual college credit; and, AWS SENSE Level One Certification.

Hold or be eligible to hold an Illinois CTE provisional teacher license.  Bachelor or Associates degree preferred with minimum of 2,000 hours of professional welding experience, proficient in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, TIG, Plasma cutting, Oxy-fuel, etc.  Ability to stand 2 to 3 hours at a time, bending, stooping and lifting 25 to 40 pounds. All new employees must agree to fingerprint background check and physical.

The Kankakee Area Career Center (KACC) is designed to meet the advanced career and technical education (CTE) needs of the regional high school students. KACC currently offers 12 CTE programs to over 800 students: juniors and seniors in high school from 15 area high schools.  KACC Strives to make children confident and creative builders of their future.  We work toward an integrated curriculum, reaching across disciplines and removing boundaries within an atmosphere of cooperation with respect for individual differences and community values.  Students are encouraged to meet academic challenges with openness, enthusiasm and a willingness to solve problems.
