Logan Miller
Bringing a new program to fruition.
KACC was delighted to have the opportunity to welcome Logan Miller to TeamKACC and initiate a brand-new curriculum offering at Kankakee Area Career Center – Multimedia Video Production.
As a new program, Mr. Miller had the daunting task of not only creating and solidifying the curriculum, searching and procuring all the equipment and supplies to ensure students had state-of-the-art tools for their learning experience. He was completely ready by the first day of school.
For a young man, Mr. Miller has a long history producing media in this community, evolving into owning his own business – Miller Media Production. He has created a variety of multimedia products and provided marketing consulting services for small businesses within Chicagoland and has produced multimedia for web, social media, print and live viewing. He has also created his current website and mobile app.
A former graduate of BBCHS, Mr. Miller moved on to studying marketing and multimedia production at Olivet Nazarene University – bringing everything he has learned and his professional experience to his students here at KACC. Mr. Miller says he “has a love for sharing media skills and empowering students.”
Mr. Miller’s ability to empower students was realized following the first year of this new course offering. KACC students moved on from his class to institutions like Flashpoint Chicago, SIU, ISU and Eastern Illinois University to study cinematography, directing, photography and audio engineering, all of which are introduced in this program. Mr. Miller says he firmly believes media skills and media literacy will only become more important in the years ahead.
Fun fact, Mr. Miller’s brother attended KACC and Mr. Miller talks about how he could have benefited if KACC had this program when he was in high school as well. Now here he is, making that a realization for his current and future students.
