KARVES
Kankakee Area Regional Vocational Education System
The Kankakee Area Regional Vocational Education System (KARVES) provides career and technical education (CTE) opportunities and support to students, staff, parents and business. CTE is a critical education component of the workforce development system providing planned sequences for career awareness, exploration and planning and career specific preparation for ALL learners in the Pre K through 16 educational system.
CTE is a combination of programs designed to equip students with work and life skills so students may
- explore career options
- gain insights into a number of fields of employment
- prepare for specific careers
- update knowledge as work requirements change
- learn how to improve home and family life
Through the direction of Director, Don Fay, and Special Populations Coordinator, Bosa Goodale, KARVES works in partnership with the Kankakee Area Career Center, the I-KAN Regional Office of Education, the Special Education Cooperative and Kankakee Community College to provide a comprehensive continuum of educational and career opportunities to students throughout the district.
