Great Support for KACC Annual Golf Outing
One of the philosophies of Director Don Fay is to share good news as often as possible.
In that vein, Director Fay wants everyone to know who supports the KACC Spaulding Lawrence Scholarship Program and our annual Memorial Outing. If it weren't for the consistent support we receive from our community, we certainly would not be in a position to offer annual scholarships honoring Bruce Spaulding and Michael Lawrence, two former Career Center Instructors.
Proceeds from the golf outing and the sponsor support we receive are turned into scholarships offered to KACC senior students. Students then have the opportunity to utilize the funds for continuing education in a career or technical field as well as a traditional 2 or 4 year college.
On May 5th, KACC students received scholarships totally $4,000. The winners were:
Name | School | Place | Award |
Malory Geifzu | Manteno HS | First | $ 1,000.00 |
Alejandra Orozco | Kankakee HS | Second | $ 750.00 |
Ilish Radulovic | Peotone HS | Second | $ 750.00 |
Taylor Bonds | Central HS | Third | $ 500.00 |
Jarrad Mulderink | Beecher HS | Third | $ 500.00 |
Celina Delgado | Herscher | Fourth | $ 250.00 |

The outing, held on June 20th, was fabulous. We had almost a full course and 140 people at the dinner reception after golf. Once again, Oak Springs Manager, Sam Ortman and his entire staff did a great job. Lots of fun was had throughout the day, all while raising just under $6,000 to continue the Spaulding-Lawrence Scholarship program next year!
