Spaulding-Lawrence Outing
What a Wonderful Day!
The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and good moods filled the air!
Friday, June 17th marked the 8th Annual Spaulding-Lawrence KACC Memorial Golf Outing held at Oak Springs Golf Club in St. Anne, Illinois.
From what this reporter can tell, everyone had a fun day. There were lots of great golf shots, and some not-so-great. What was consistent were the smiles and laughter heard throughout the day.
Well over 60 prizes were given after a tasty steak dinner. First Place Team sponsored by HomeStar Bank and Financial Services, was Mark Argyelan, Francis Smith, Michael Boudreau and Richard Balthazor.
The School Challenge First Place Team of St. Anne High School was Tom Montemayer, Raime Kolitwenzew, Joe Eirich and Jeremy Heck.. The School Challenge Trophy will now spend the next year in St. Anne High School. The School is reclaiming the trophy, as they last won the School Challenge in 2009, beating defending champions from Kankakee High School.
Because of the generosity of so many people and businesses from our area, KACC will once again be in a position to sponsor scholarships for some well-deserving KACC seniors who will graduate in 2012.
This past year, scholarships were awarded to the following:
1st Place – Jake Hines Herscher $1,000
2nd Place – Larissa Johnson BBCHS $ 750
3rd Place – Meghan Spencer BBCHS $ 500
4th Place – Brianna Jones St. Anne $ 250
The scholarships provided would not be possible without the support of many. As Director Fay stated, "KACC is fortunate to have support from such a vast array of individuals and businesses from throughout our community. for this, we are extremely grateful. I always encourage folks to do business with those who support our students and their educational pursuits, whether it is a 2-year degree, 4-year degree or a trade school or certificate program. As long as they are continuing their education, that's what is most important."
The following is a list of those who provided sponsorships, prizes, etc.
