School-To-Apprenticeship Program
A Unique Opportunity
KARVES School-To-Apprenticeship (STA) is a program for Juniors and Seniors in participating schools who are interested in a rewarding career in the construction trades. It includes rigorous academic and technical preparation during the Junior Year.
Those who meet established standards may be selected for the second and final year which includes additional academic and technical preparation and a paid, supervised work experience, typically during the summer between the Junior and Senior Year.
During the Senior year, activities may include visiting apprenticeship facilities, mentoring juniors in the program, and/or assisting with the annual Construction Career Expo's.
Upon graduation, students are encouraged to apply for a federally recognized construction apprenticeship program. While participating in the STA program does not guarantee graduates will be accepted into an apprenticeship, students should be well prepared to compete for available openings!
