Nicole Beaupre Pays a Visit
Launch the media gallery 1 playerNicole Beaupre, a 2018 graduate from KACC's Fire-Rescue-EMR program and BBCHS, stopped by to visit during KACC's Options and Opportunities Open House.
Since graduating, she has been very busy as a Cadet/Explorer member of the Kankakee Fire Department. She has completed the MABAS 7 Fire Academy and obtained her Basic Fire Fighter certification through the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal. Nicole has also completed her Emergency Medical Technician training and is certified as an EMT through the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Mr. Leeson was delighted to hear Nicole is continuing her education in the medical field. She attends Kankakee Community College and is studying to be a phlebotomist, all while working at our local WalMart as she completes her studies.
Nicole told Mr. Leeson the value she has found in having the Career Portfolio she completed while attending KACC. She has presented her portfolio to employers on two separate occasions and has been hired both times. For those who are unfamiliar, KACC students are required to complete a portfolio by the end of their senior year. The portfolio includes a resume, references, awards and examples of their work.
