Handwashing: #1 in Controlling Germs and Cross-contamination
Just how important is hand hygiene? Everyday hand hygiene is important for all of us. Think about all the contaminated objects we touch each day. There's doorknobs, grocery packaging and countertops, not to mention public spaces such as busses, trains and of course, healthcare settings.
Everything in our environments carries microorganisms, aka, germs! In healthcare, hand washing is an absolute first in controlling germs and cross-contamination. Here at KACC, our CNA students have studied and practiced proper hand hygiene. Healthcare hand washing is a very specific procedure which must become ingrained and automatic for any healthcare worker. Today, our students mastered the art of healthcare hand washing and are celebrating their achievements!
